Beaches

When Love Waves Goodbye Too Late…

--

Where once lived a wanting
A place where love’s giving
Lived just beneath the dreamscape
Of moments yet to be . . .

When all that once mattered
A wavering hush smothered
Living unjust defiance in what seems
Are moments unseen . . .

Sinking deeply in shadows
Sacrificial time borrowed
Living where crossroads broken
Are moments of fatigue. . .

Splintered by feigned fondness
Arose unspoken promise
Living an existence darkened
In moments of retreat . . .

With two feet I’ve buried
In heavy sand grounded
You swam without the burden
Of moments I believed . . .

In broad daylight standing
A last glimpse of you fading
Once breathed the heart that won me
In moments you deceived. . .

On beaches I’ll stand firmly
Bury my feet deep in sand
Keeping me on solid ground
In moments of dreams. . .

Hand-in-hand I am seeing
New sets of feet in the sand
Of hope that I am chosen
In moments I’m truly me . . .
